Gaza Chamber of Commerce Launches Training Program under Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Center Development Project
Gaza – Public Relations: The Gaza Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture opened the first session of the training programme run under the project to develop the Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre through alternative dispute resolution (ADR), at the chamber's premises. The trainer, Dr Adnan Al-Hafi, led the session, attended by the chamber's director general, Dr Maher Al-Tabbaa, the legal adviser and project coordinator, Mr Mohammed Al-Hattab, and a group of lawyers, legal advisers and specialists selected after registration closed. The programme is part of the chamber's effort to develop the Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre, strengthen its institutional capacity and spread the culture of arbitration, mediation and alternative means of settling disputes. It supports the business environment with fair, effective and fast mechanisms for resolving commercial disputes, at a time when Gaza sees a growing number of commercial and civil disputes that need alternative routes before they escalate and reach courts that may take a very long time to decide them. The programme runs over six training days. It gives participants specialised knowledge and skills in arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, together with the related legal and procedural aspects, raising their professional capacity and their readiness to handle disputes according to best practice. The first meeting saw active participation: the programme's objectives, modules and delivery were presented so that participants understand its content and make the most of each stage. The programme falls within the chamber's vision of strengthening the centre's services and providing qualified personnel in alternative dispute resolution, serving the business community and helping build a more stable and trusted economic environment. Delivery continues over six training sessions for each of two groups, according to the approved schedule.
